Cliched and Predictable
It took me a while to like this book. First, the plot is pretty much cliched and predictable. Second, and mostly, I just had a hard time warming up to the animals. I didn't find anything likable about packs of stray, feral cats with ticks, slit ears and missing tails, Yet, as I kept reading I was slowly won over by the personalities of the main characters. I think I would have liked this better if it had been set in a world without humans (such as in Redwall or Ga'Hoole) as it would have been easier to accept the cats as dignified characters. For the first 7 or 8 chapters I just kept thinking some Twolegs (humans) should get the SPCA in there and rescue these poor cats! But eventually I warmed up to the characters, Firepaw and Bluestar especially, and while the plot was predictable it moved along at a good pace and the set up for the next in the series is intriguing and puts me in the position of wanting to find out what happens next. So we'll see if the second book is good enough to make me keep reading the series.

The Best Series I Have Ever Read
Do not be fooled by the reading level of Erin Hunter's Warriors series! The books are listed as 9-12 age level, but as a 32 year old cat lover, I have been absolutely enthralled with every novel in this series. I have both laughed out loud, and cried my eyes out while following the lives and adventures of these cats. I highly reccomend to every cat lover that you begin this series.

Well...let's just say, "Pretty good"
Ahh...warriors. This is a refreshing series, (and you can read my review on the other books if you want! =^_^=) but unfortunately this is one of those books where it's very predictable at times, and the writing is...BLECH! Still, I read through this like a mouse nibling through swiss cheese, and firepaw's (well, his name changes later...) adventures intrigue me as much as anything else. I will reccomend this series to fans of "The Deptford Mice" or "Guardians of Ga'hoole". (I have a review on those too!) So, just as long as you don't mind a cheesy ending and hideous writing, this book is for you. Me.

Fire Alone Will Save Our Clan....
This series is a must-read! My friend told me about these books, and I read the first one in less than a day, it was so amazing! Then I got the second through sixth books, Fire and Ice, Forest of Secrets, Rising Storm, A Dangerous Path, and The Darkest Hour. They are all every bit as good as the first! These books are amazing, Erin Hunter (Kate Cary and Cherith Baldry) puts you right there with Rusty/Firepaw/Fireheart, and makes you feel as if you've known all the cats for your whole life. I love these books. The authour thinks up creative names for everyday things, like roads are called Thunderpaths, people are called Twolegs, and housecats are called Kittypets. Strangely, though, dogs are called dogs. READ THESE BOOKS!!! ERIIN HUNTER ROCKS!!!

Into The Wild

The First book in the Warriors series. DEFINITLY read this one first, I made the mistake of reading the second one before it, READ THIS ONE FIRST!!! These books are amazing, I've never thought about my cats the same way since I've read them. A great idea for gifts, or just as a novel to read for yourself! I definitly reccomend the entire WARRIORS series. Read them all!
