Nice intro for The Judas Strain
|
The Judas StrainOnce again I'm glad I picked this book. Fast pace and entertaining yet it was to chemicly inclined for me. The story is good, but hard to follow a some point. I like the historical facts and places. Didn't like the love story. I believe that if my life was hanging by a tread I wouldn't go all guggly eyes for the guy beside me. I would probably have wet myself anyway.
The end let something like a bad taste in my mind (and I mean it). What was the point in all this chemistry lesson if it doesn't pay off at the end.
I still like the chase, thrill and history but preferred by far the judas strain. See you next book!

Interesting and thought-provoking

This thriller is in the vein of The Fates by Tino Georgiou and DaVinci Code by Dan Brown. The storyline is flowing and causes just the right amount of anxiety for our heros the historical facts (hopefully they are facts, because that's how I am reading them) are fascinating and informative, the conjectures or conclusion are intriguing and push one to find out more about the possibilities revealed. I actually found the action more realistic and more within the realms of possibility that DaVinci Code, more like Fusion which also presented itself in a very realistic, believable and easier to accept manner. Readers of this type of thriller, which causes one to question a little of what we have been "fed" throughout the ages and to search for more information, will be more than happy with this novel and look forward to more.

Action/Bibilical Thriller
|
|
This was the first James Rollins novel I have ever read. Map of Bones will have you staying up to the early morning wanting to read on. The beginning of the novel is a bit slow, as Rollins is setting the storyline up, but as the characters and plots are introduced, that's when the action begins. Rollins is exceptionally precise in desbribing every little bit of detail. The only downfall to this novel is the ending. Not giving away too much but the description of the events occuring near the end of the novel is too cramped with information, descrption, feelings and emotions. With everything going on at once, I found that I had to re-read the ending more than once to be able to fully understand just exactly what was going on. Definitely recommend this for those who love action, adventure, and bibilical mysteries.

Remarkable

Dan Brown, eat your heart out.
This is one of the most interesting and enjoyable mystery novels I have EVER read. There are so many twists, turns and sub plots weaved together that it almost seems like to much to handle! Not for James Rollins. He masterfully mixes factual history with wonderful flights-of-fancy in such a seamless way. BRAVO!
Explosions, deep sea diving, jets, speedboats, motorcycles, knife fights and decapitation...this book has it all.
If you're looking for a read that you won't be able to put down, pick up this book.

Rollins comes at you with a dizzying pace,

Excellent book! Rollins comes at you with a dizzying pace and almost overwhelming information. After 20 pages you adjust to his speed and data ... and you enjoy the ride! This is a modern thriller with obvious comparisons to The DaVinci Code. Three American intelligence operatives and two Italians (priest and niece) form an unlikely and tight partnership to thwart an ancient religious order from gaining an ultimate prize. Perhaps this is a perceptive view of our 21st century, a harmonious blend of science and spirituality, history and technology, religion and government agents across borders. A high point is Rollins' use of a loyal team of five very diverse people devoted to one another and their mission. This is a fine read! I would also recommend ' Quest ' by George Kostantinos.
