Perhaps would benefit novices, not beauty junkies (like me)

I bought this book about a week ago and I'm very disappointed. First off, I bought it from the Sephora website while purchasing makeup and paid $10 more than what Amazon is asking! I should've shopped around first, thats my fault I guess.
The book does have a few handy tips, like sculpting brows, the smokey eye look, choosing the right red lipstick, and great brushes to buy. I appreciate those tips but I was really looking for something a little more advanced, I love experimenting with eyeshadows and I was hoping this book would offer expert tips on "wow" eyes. The tips offered were almost common sense.
The book has some cute quotes and stories, I didn't find them useful but I can see how someone would enjoy them. Perhaps I'm just grumpy about be ripped off, I don't know. The book has MANY advertisements, also.
All in all, this is an excellent book for beginners. Not for pros.
