Paranormal Phenomena for the Novice
|
|
This book appears to have been written for general readers who have an interest in learning about the paranormal, i.e., ghosts, afterlife, etc. It is not a book aimed at convincing skeptics of the existence of ghosts, nor does it appear to be directed towards well seasoned paranormal buffs (although they too may benefit from some of the material). As a result, the author has presented a sweeping overview of the world of the paranormal, mainly based on his own extensive personal experiences. Topics include: a description of death, the nature and types of ghosts, the afterlife and its various levels of existence, paranormal energy fields, chakras, hauntings, possessions, communicating with ghosts, ghost hunting, etc. All this is peppered with many anecdotes, as experienced by the author. Throughout the book, the author emphasizes the importance of always maintaining a very positive mental attitude towards oneself and towards others - good advice no matter what one's beliefs are. The book is written in a very friendly, accessible and engaging style with a very positive slant. The author has been very careful to ensure that any specialized jargon is explained when first used. As a result, this book can be painlessly enjoyed by general readers who have an interest in this field. However, the book's lack of any hard-core irrefutable scientific evidence for the existence of ghosts may be frowned upon by skeptics, unless they are either very open-minded or curious about current thinking in this area.
