Great book for starters

This is an excellent book - very easy to understand and nice full color pictures that illustrate each step. The author uses repetition of 7 easy steps to teach you an effective way to bring life into most photos.
This book doesn't however focus on much more than those seven steps, so if you're looking for a comprehensive guide to photoshop, this isn't the book.

I could not wait to go through all lessons. This book gives you very good base techniques. You can then start there to improve yourself with your photos.

I thought this was a great book. Scott Kelby has been the only person who has been able to make me "get" Photoshop and this is his best book so far. If you are brand new to Photoshop or if you find yourself not knowing where to begin when you open a picture in Photoshop then this is the book for you. Kelby teaches a simple 7 point system for improving the look of even the worst of pictures and then reinforces these steps by repetition with 21 lessons. I found that after working through the 7-Point System I could go back and make sense of other Photoshop books that used to read like gobbledygook.

Finally a way to Really Get It

Scott Kelby is the #1 writer of Adobe Photoshop tutorial and helps books but up until this one none of them have been much more than a reference book.
This time he shows us how to do professional photo retouching and he repeats the process step by step (with all kinds of little gems added in) 21 times each on a different photograph. I now can enhance and produce remarkable photos from ordinary or poor shots each and every time and it has become automatic. My wife is now going through the process and I am amazed at how she is progressing. This is a teaching method that really works. I am impressed, Great Job Scott!! You have broken new ground with this one.
