What did I get myself into!

Book two centered itself on Fox, the lawyer and Layla, the NYC retail store cleck. Come on, this is a book of 300 and some pages that could have been written in a little under 100. Thers is just about nothing going on with the main story line which is about demons and gods, white and black magick. This book is a lame excuse for a trilogy.
About the charaters. Did she have (Roberts)to make Layla such a high strong, high maintenance bitch. Everything that Fox does, she gets piss off about. She is the kind of woman I hate and I am a woman. All they do is fight and have sex. I never read a romantic novel in my life and this comes way to close to being one. I wish someone had warned me.
Of course I am going to buy the last one coming out in december which will be centering on Gage and Cybil. I need to know what happen's at the Pagan Stone.

I loved the first book and love the second one even more!

Like the reviewer said before me, I don't know how I am going to make it until next December to see how this story ends!!!
I am new to Nora Roberts books. I picked up the first book in the trilogy this winter on a trip to the USA (I live in Canada). Before my trip was over, I was hooked. I waited, impatiently, for the second of three books to come out. I bought it as soon as it did... and loved this chapter even more!
My favorite characters are Layla and Fox, so I was happy that this second book was all about them and their relationship. The book was suspenseful enough to keep to wanting to turn the page and not put it down. I read it in three days (between studying for med school and working full time!).
Nora Roberts has a way of telling a story that makes you not want to put the book down until you've read the whole thing. On one side, I am happy I am finished (maybe now my marks will improve because I can focus fully on my studies), but on the other hand I am so sad. I wish I had more to read! I want to know more about these character and see how it all ends! It will be hard to wait for the next chapter, but I will have to be patient.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes a great suspence story with bits of romance thrown in! I am now officially a total fan!

An excellent second book in the trilogy! I couldn't ask for better. We're taken back to Hawkin's Hollow and its residents - good and bad. Some you love, some you love to hate.
This book circled mostly around Layla and Fox - their relationship blossoms in this novel, and I loved how they got the feel of each other - thoughts and feelings. Working together, being together... You get more of their backgrounds, what Fox was like as a kid and growing up. Layla gets to chat with his parents - together and separately, and adores his family almost as much as him. It was a little annoying how it took nineteen out of twenty chapters for her to finally admit she was in love it him - to herself and out loud to Fox himself - but I think it was perfect. I wouldn't have had it any other way.
You still get time with Cal and Quinn, and you know, just like in the first novel, they love each other deeply.
And wether Cybil and Gage want to admit it or not, I think they are very much stuck together. It'll be interesting to see them bloom in the third novel. They are alike in a lot of ways - and neither would ever admit to it.
In this novel, we're taken back in time through Ann's journals. You get a little better understanding of what they're up against. The troubles escalate, fear is mounting, as well as their determination as a group to finally stop Twisse.
I can't wait to see what the last novel - which is going to drive me absolutely crazy seeing as the third and final book in the trilogy, The Pagan Stone, isn't out until late November, early December `08. The six-month wait is going to kill me, LOL!
