I'm a mom of Triplets, I was desperate to find a solution to soothe my babies as quickly as possible, since my time is very divided between them. This book is an absolute blessing, I have only read 3 quarters of it and it's already working wonders for us. I would strongly recommend this book to every new parent.

I gave it to ma friend who has a 2 month old baby. Guess what -- I was told that it is a really great gift that works. For happier, calmer, and loving baby. Just follow it step-by-step (easy to do) to get the result. I'm sure all the other reviewers have the same opinion.

A work colleague suggested I read this book and lent it to me. I read it about 3 months before my due date. I liked the concept so much that I bought my own copy and also got the DVD. The DVD is a good complement to the book and most fathers would probably prefer watching the DVD than to read the entire book.
This is by far the most useful tool I have to calm my baby down when he's crying (after I've fed, burped an changed him). I started to use it as soon as he was born. I did the shushing and he calmed right down. When we got home, I used all 5 techniques (swaddling, side/stomach position, shushing, swinging and sucking). He calms down usually within 30 seconds to a couple of minutes of using these techniques. Thank you Dr. Karp for making my life easier and enjoying the confidence this book brings to new first time parents. It is a great baby shower gift to give a mom-to-be. She'll thank you for it. Trust me!!

My daughter, our third child, was almost three months old when I read this book. She was already sleeping well at night, but I got the book because so many other new moms were raving about the book. I tried the main one of the five S's, swaddling, and it worked magic. Before my baby had only been cat napping in our arms through the day but after the trying the tight swaddling demonstrated in the book she fell right to sleep and could be put down in her crib immediately. She also slept longer during her naps and at night. I wish I had had this book with my two other kids. If I had had colicky babies this would have been a life saver!

We ordered this DVD for our son and received it when he was 6 weeks old. It saved our life! This child was attached to either my husband or I for 24 hours a day. Using the techniques in this DVD made it easy for us to calm him and get him to sleep in his bassinet. I highly recommend this to any new parent. I intend on purchasing a couple of extra copies to give as gifts to my pregnant friends.
