Customer Reviews:
A MUST-read
This book is a must read for every Canadian household.

Without being preaching, it offers countless tips on how you can live a healthier lifestyle while having less of an impact on planet Earth.

The book is organized in practical themes which allow for a reading by clusters, as well as going back to a certain chapter before heading for a shopping trip... it will allow you to make an informed decision as a consumer.

The writing style is witty, there is a good use of textboxes...

One of the best books I have ever put my hands on.
Wow...Great Book, Great Info
My sister bought me this book and I was a little bit "ugh" at first...but then I started reading it! Adria Vasil is a funny, tell-it-like-it-is writer, and makes you THINK about your life. Everyone should know the info in this book. Vasil suggests lots of great eco-friendly products - I was already a bit of an ecogeek before reading, but this is a great book to give to anyone who turns up their nose at your passion for the earth.
The Encyclopedia for Canadian Environmentalists
This book is just flat-out amazing. It covers everything from food storage and floor coverings to recreation and travel. The best part is that it's Canadian, and you don't have to spend time tracking down American sources that may or may not sell/ship to Canada!
342 pages of BS
Come on, this book is so full of crap it's almost painful! It will take another book just to list them all. She doesn't know what she is talking about - no wonder since she so often list gov. sources! And then, there is IKEA. In one chapter, there is at least one bold IKEA per page. Obviously, she doesn't know where IKEA got there stuff from and who made it neither; well 48% of their production is curently made by underpaid workers in Asia including children in Pakistan, India, Vietnam and Philippines. For more detail read the OMG Freres de Hommes report fo December 2006
at http://www.france-fdh.org/actu/details_actus/inde-ikea-dec2006.htm
In other words, I am really pissed to have paid for IKEA advertising.
Should Be In Every Environmentalist's Library
If I could only have one environmental reference book, this would be it. It answers just about all the questions you may have about what products to buy and use to live an environmentally friendly life, and it is Canadian. No more trying to find a Canadian version or supplier of a US or European product! Listing manufacturers and rating their products, the author helps you through the issues to find the kind of products you want to use. If the book has one fault, it is that no matter how small you may think your environmental footprint is - there is still room to make it smaller.
